Project management

"Thanks also for your help in setting up our substantially revised programme for Best Value Review and Project Management training, which is coming together nicely. There seems to have been a sudden take off in the quality of thinking about projects in terms of strategy and planning for execution, which is largely down to your help. I'm very much encouraged."

– Alasdair Robertson, Organisation Development Manager, Wokingham District Council

Often, project leaders have no direct authority over team members, have to influence a wide range of stakeholders and achieve demanding targets; all on top of doing the "day job".

Project Management workshops

Working on real projects

In these workshops we help project teams or individuals define and plan their own projects. These workshops develop the core skills and techniques of managing projects while progressing real-life projects.

Using our "Rhythm of Life" simulation

This workshop is based around a simulated project – planning, preparing and running a community music, dance and visual arts extravaganza. Participants work through the definition, planning implementation and review stage of the project, co-ordinating the rehearsals and the event itself in "real time", negotiating with suppliers and managing the conflicting needs of different stakeholders. However, in case you're worried, no-one has to play an instrument or dance – unless they really want to!

Using a tailor-made simulation

To give learning even greater impact, we can research and develop a simulation of a typical project from your own organisation, again giving "real time" experience of rolling the project out.

We can provide consultancy and advice to project teams and individuals new to project management. This can be done:
